DG Environment: Biolandhaus Arche rodiny Tessmanovy získal evropskou ekoznačku

The eco-hotel "Biolandhaus Arche" located in St. Oswald, on the sunny side of the Saualpe, has fully committed itself to ecological management and environmentally friendly performance. As Austria's first eco-hotel, the Biolandhaus Arche has become a model enterprise with respect to environmental protection and health. Using organic, natural construction materials and renewable resources, the hotel has taken over a pioneer role in the tourist sector and the concept has proved to be successful. The compliance with certain standards has not only helped to reduce the costs of consumption, but is also highly appreciated by guests.

"The environmental commitment of the Tessmann family is exemplary. The eco-label enjoys high international respect. The fact that it has only been awarded five times in Europe in this product group and is now awarded in Austria for the second time proves once again that Austrians are willing to assume high ecological responsibility" Minister Pröll said during the award ceremony on 14 June 2004.
