Rada Evropy: Diskuse Evropské úmluvy o ochraně krajiny nabízejí celoevropskou debatu: "Cíle v ochraně krajiny, od teorie k praxi"
The Council of Europe will organise the fifth meeting of the workshops for the European Landscape Convention (*) in Girona, Spain, on 28-29 September 2006. The meeting is held in co-operation with the Territory and Biodiversity Secretariat General of Spain’s Ministry of the Environment, the Department of Territorial Policy and Public Works of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Landscape Observatory of Catalonia and the City of Girona.
The meeting aims to share experiences in carrying out European Landscape Convention provisions, with regard to identification and assessment of landscapes, landscape quality objectives and use of landscape policies. It will specifically provide an opportunity to identify good and bad practice in European landscape protection, management and planning.
Over 300 government representatives, experts and professionals from Europe and other continents are expected to attend the meeting, which starts at 9.30 a.m. on 28 September at the Auditori – Palau de Congresos of Girona. It will be open to the press.

(*) The European Landscape Convention was adopted in Florence (Italy) on 20 October 2000 and came into force on 1 March 2004, with the aim of promoting European landscape protection, management and planning, and organising European co-operation in this area. The Convention is the first international treaty to be exclusively concerned with all aspects of European landscape.
